November 28, 2007 AUSTRALIAN freestyle motocross rider Robbie Maddison is prepared to die in his world record jump attempt. US-based Maddison, 25, is ranked No.6 on the US FMX (freestyle motocross) tour, is the undefeated "King of the Coast" champion after winning consecutive titles and holds two current official world records. Early next year he and two fellow US members of the Crusty Demons FMX stunt troupe will attempt the "impossible" - breaking the world record for the longest distance two-wheeled motorcycle jump.
If things go wrong, Maddison says the most likely outcome is death. "If something was to go wrong mechanically, if you lose control of the bike, it's death," Maddison said. "You can't come down travelling at 140km/ph from 20 metres in the air with a dirt bike chasing you down and expect to live. "It's similar to playing Russian Roulette: you've got to be prepared to die to take on this challenge." This story is from fox sports for more on this story please visit
